Leo Fernandes, a handwriting instructor and calligrapher is a native of Coonoor, The Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu. He began his career 20 years ago having identified the deterioration and the lack of importance given to handwriting due to computerization. For over 20 years, he has been tutoring students of almost all top schools in The Nilgiris. More than 1,00,000 students have benefited from his teaching. He holds regular classes for members and families of the Defense Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington. He has held televised shows to highlight the importance of a good handwriting. During these shows he interacted and provided tips to those who sought to improve their handwriting. He has also held handwriting workshops for people of all ages in various parts of Tamil Nadu. In addition to meeting various famous personalities across India, Leo has been recognized by Dr.Abdul Kalam, Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw and Sachin Tendulkar for his efforts.
